Photographs of Gloucester Cathedral
This set of photographs illustrate why many people regard Gloucester
Cathedral as one of the most beautiful buildings in England. The
mid fifteenth century Perpendicular tower which soars two hundred
and twenty five feet into the sky can be seen for many miles around.
The pale cream Cotswold stone produces wonderful effects of light
and shade, highlighting the beauty of the architecture, particularly
when floodlit as in the photograph of the tower. The delicate tracery
of the fan vaulting in the cloisters is an architectural masterpiece,
and a joy to photograph.
