The Soren Larsen
|
The photograph is an excellent study of the classic Tall Ship, The Soren Larsen. A square rigged ship which regularly doubled for 'The Charlotte Rhodes' in 'The Onedin Line'the popular tv series of the 1970's. The Soren Larsen visited Gloucester Docks in 1982 to take part in a program about the explorer Ernest Shackleton. This photograph was taken before The Soren Larsen set sail to take part in the tall ship's race. In the background of our picture are some of the period dockland
warehouses which have now been restored. |
