This picture shows the restored quayside and warehouses in the dock basin.

In the background of our photograph is the former Lock Warehouse, now a thriving antique centre. The large building on the right is the North Warehouse, also known as the Canal Company’s Warehouses. It was built in 1826-7 for the Canal Company and the individual store rooms were rented out to a number of corn merchants. The building has been fully restored and is now used as offices by Gloucester City Council. The quayside area is a popular venue for open-air arts events.
