Aerial photo of Gloucester docks

Gloucester cannot be said to be one of England's most beautiful
cities, but it has great historical significance. By the sixteenth
century Gloucester had become a major port, shipping timber, corn,
metals and wines and spirits.
For many years the docks were used as a film location most famously
for the tv series 'The Onedin Line' in the 1970's.
This aerial photograph shows the main dock basin and Llanthony
bridge in the center and the Victoria Dock to the right. The River
Severn with the lock which separates it from the dock basin, can
be clearly seen on the left of the photograph. Gloucester Cathedral
completes this interesting scene.
