This village, dubbed the 'Venice of The Cotswolds' is a mecca for
tourists. Despite the encroaching commercialism, the village has
undeniable charm. The River Windrush meanders beneath a series of
elegant eighteenth century stone buildings.
Bourton has a number of major tourist attractions including the
Model Village, depicting Bourton as it was in 1937 at 1/9 scale,
and Birdland established by the late Len Hill which is home to a
huge variety of exotic birds many of which are allowed to fly freely
in the village.
The photograph shows the River Windrush with its bridges and resident
ducks!
