The Queen's Hotel, Cheltenham

|
|
In an imposing position at the top of the promenade lies the Queens
Hotel, built in 1837-8 on the site of the Imperial Spa. It was designed
and built by Robert and Charles Gearrad who were both architects
and bought the Montpellier and Imperial Spas in 1830.
In the foreground lie the beautiful Imperial Gardens which are
always a centre piece in the Britain in Bloom competition which
Cheltenham has won on a number of occasions.
During the summer the garden hosts an annual summer exhibition
of paintings by local artists.
