The Pittville Spa, usually known as the Pittville Pump Room, was built in 1825-30 as the centre piece of the hundred acre Pittville Estate which was established by Joseph Pitt, a wealthy lawyer and banker. It was designed by local architect John Forbes and houses a ballroom containing the marble pump from which the spa waters were drawn. On the upper floor is a balcony from which the band used to play as well as a billiard room, library and reading room.

During the summer the Pump Room is still a popular venue for residents and tourists alike offering concerts,
carriage drives and an elegant setting in which to take tea.

The Pump Room makes an ideal setting for classical concerts as part of the Cheltenham International Festival of Music.
