The Acer Glade

The Aceraceae or maple family has two genera and over one hundred species of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs – most of which are represented at Westonbirt. Some extend as far as the tropics, but most occur in northern temperate regions.

The small male and female flowers can vary from cream to yellow, green, red or purple, but in the autumn these trees become the stars of Westonbirt.
